Last week, ESCA Board member company Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) received a special visit from Sen. Mike Crapo (R-ID).

Sen. Crapo, a senior member of the Senate Finance Committee and a cosponsor of S. 742, visited the company’s Lewiston, ID facility to learn about the products and services SEL provides for power systems around the world. SEL’s Lewiston facility specializes in producing high-quality relays, data cables, voltage regulator controllers and plastic parts used in power transmission. The Lewiston manufacturing facility has doubled in size to 245,000 square feet within the past few years to accommodate the company’s growth.

While Sen. Crapo was in Lewiston, he spoke with some of SEL’s 230 employee-owners – reaffirming his strong support for ESOPs and suggesting more businesses follow the model.
