San Bernardino, CA – Last week, Congressman Pete Aguilar (D-CA-31) addressed employee-owners during Giroux Glass’s first town hall ESOP meeting to educate and celebrate the company’s first anniversary of 100% employee ownership. The congressman addressed employee-owners from the company’s four locations in California and Nevada on how employee-owned companies like Giroux Glass can work with members of Congress to preserve, protect, and promote the S ESOP structure so that more employees can realize the benefits that the ESOP affords.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to participate in a town hall discussion with Giroux Glass San Bernardino employees,” said Rep. Aguilar. “The decision to transition to an employee-owned company demonstrates their belief that when employees succeed, the company succeeds. I applaud the investment Giroux Glass is making in their employees and the company’s commitment to strengthening the retirement security of Inland Empire residents.”

Giroux Glass President & CEO, Nataline Lomedico, reflected on the milestone and event: “Since starting our ESOP in 2007 and giving our employees a stake in the company, our employees are now 100% ESOP employee-owners and directly share in the success of Giroux Glass. With the ESOP, employees can retire with safety and security, based on their years of hard work at the company. Thank you to Rep. Aguilar for paying us a visit and continuing to support employee ownership.”

Giroux Glass was founded in 1946 and is a WBE-certified glass, glazing, and architectural metals contracting company that hires Union-certified glaziers to meet the needs of the commercial, retail, and residential construction sectors. It operates branches in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Las Vegas, and Fresno. Giroux Glass is a leader in the contract glazing industry and has provided its services during the construction of many notable venues including the Getty Center in Los Angeles, the new Madera County Courthouse, the Skywalk at the Grand Canyon, and CityCenter in Las Vegas. Giroux Glass started its transition to being an employee-owned company in 2006 with the goal to become 100 percent employee-owned by 2021. The company beat that target in October 2017, five years ahead of schedule.
