St. Louis, MO – Last week, ESCA Board company Burns & McDonnell hosted Congresswoman Ann Wagner at its office in St. Louis, MO. The congresswoman toured the facility, spoke to employee-owners, and heard about the unique culture of employee-owned companies. The congresswoman expressed her support for S ESOPs and what they allow companies to do for the regions in which they operate. Following her visit, Congresswoman Wagner signed onto H.R. 2092, the Promotion and Expansion of Employee Ownership Act.

“At my recent visit to Burns & McDonnell, a 100% employee-owned company, I heard firsthand how they are able to provide more and better benefits to workers through their retirement contribution plan,” said Congresswoman Ann Wagner (MO-02). “I am proud to cosponsor H.R. 2092, the Promotion and Expansion of Private Employee Ownership Act, which will incentivize the creation of additional employee-owned businesses and give workers more opportunities to retire with increased savings.”

Reflecting on the visit, Mike Talboy of Burns & McDonnell said, “Because we’re employee-owned, our team is motivated to work harder, resulting in greater success for our clients, our company, and our ESOP retirement plan. We’re grateful to Rep. Wagner for taking the time to visit us in St. Louis and continuing to support employee ownership.”
