(Cave Creek, AZ) Burns & McDonnell and Garney Construction have teamed up to improve the wastewater treatment plant in Cave Creek and increase six-fold the rated capacity of the old facility. This partnership is 100 percent employee-owned, with both companies being S ESOPs, or “S corporation employee stock ownership plans”
Burns & McDonnell and Garney lead the planning, programming, architecture and engineering design and construction as the design/build project team. The team increased capacity and lowered the overall projected budget by nine percent. The wastewater treatment plant will use 100 percent of the reclaimed water for beneficial use and can now accommodate up to 5,000 new residential connections. The successful project has also attracted new commercial establishments to the area.
