McCarthy Building Companies, ESCA member company and 100 percent employee owned, was recently honored with the 2014 Vision Award by Constructech Magazine, which marks the 8th time McCarthy has been honored by the leading construction technology publication.
The Constructech Vision Awards honor companies that have stayed up-to-date on the latest trends and products in order to make decisions that have helped their businesses thrive and deliver exceptional client results. Companies eligible to submit for this competition range from residential and commercial construction to government agencies and land developers.
McCarthy, a trusted name in commercial construction for over 150 years, received a Silver Award in the “Builder/GC Commercial More Than $500 Million” category for its use of Autodesk in a companywide implementation of the BIM 360 Field tool. More than 230 active users are now using the system, with another 1700+ receiving reports. Since its implementation, more than 9,000 quality and safety related verifications have been performed and more than 68,000 field issues have been captured and efficiently resolved.
In addition, McCarthy was also honored as part of the Team Award, presented to just one project team that experienced considerable success in using leading-edge technology, specifically on one single project or program. This year the winner of the Team Award was Kaiser Permanente, with recognized team members including McCarthy; HTS Inc.; AECOM; Autodesk Inc.; HOK; and Profitable Solutions Institute, Inc.
