The Kansas City Business Journal honored Garney Construction and Burns & McDonnell at the Champions in Business luncheon.  These two ESCA member companies were recognized for their continued dedication to the gold standard for financial performance, innovation and community involvement.

Both companies are 100 percent employee-owned. The employees at Garney Construction and Burns & McDonnell have the privilege of saving for a secure retirement through an S ESOP corporate structure, which is an employee stock ownership plan, where the success of the company directly benefits their retirement savings accounts.

Burns & McDonnell is full-service engineering, architecture, construction, environmental and consulting services firm. Garney specializes in the construction of water and wastewater pipelines, treatment facilities, pumping stations, water storage tanks, and industrial/heavy civil projects.

ESCA’s large and growing Kansas City-area contingent and I congratulate our friends at Burns & McDonnell and Garney Construction for being honored by Kansas City Business Journal not only for the positive impact they have on the local community but also for their innovation and commitment to their products and services.
