Last month, Congressman Rob Bishop visited ESCA member company Petersen Inc. headquarters in Ogden, Utah. Petersen Inc. is a 100 percent employee-owned custom steel fabrication company with nearly 430 employee-owners.
During Congressman Bishop’s visit, Petersen’s management team provided an introduction to the company’s history, including the importance of the ownership culture as an ESOP company. Congressman Bishop then toured the facilities and met with employee-owners. Congressman Bishop was briefed on some of the larger projects Petersen is currently working on and heard firsthand accounts from Petersen’s employee-owners about the importance of working for an employee-owned company. Overall, the tour was rewarding for the employee-owners involved, and it demonstrated to Congressman Bishop the strength of an S ESOP company.
