Home News Employee-owners and Rep. Pete Olson celebrate company expansion in Texas

ESCA member company Puffer-Sweiven had a big week, opening a new warehouse at their Stafford, Texas, headquarters.  To help cut the ribbon was Congressman Pete Olson, who represents the Stafford area.  Rep. Olson then met with over 100 of Puffer-Sweiven’s 400+ employee-owners.  Included in the session was a discussion of the S ESOP model and what it means to the employee-owners, their careers and the overall business.

Puffer-Sweiven has a strong history of dedicated employee-owners. Their average employee tenure is over 11 years, demonstrating their employee-owners’ commitment and passion for the company’s success.

After talking with this accomplished team in his district, Rep. Olson announced that he would be signing on as a new cosponsor to H.R. 1244, the Promotion and Expansion of Private Employee Ownership Act of 2011. We commend his support, as well as other members of the Texas delegation who have shown leadership in cosponsoring this important bill: Rep. John Culberson (R-TX-7th), Rep. Gene Green (D-TX-29th), Rep. Kenny Marchant (R-TX-24th), Rep. Ted Poe (R-TX-2) and Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX-32nd).

As more of ESCA’s companies report their great stories of growth and expansion, we’ll be looking for new opportunities to share these great stories with Members of Congress across the country.
