Rochester, Minnesota – Dakota Supply Group (DSG) hosted Congressman Jim Hagedorn (R-MN-1) at the company’s Rochester, MN branch. The Congressman’s visit to DSG Rochester served as an opportunity to showcase the critical role that ESOPs play in creating jobs and growing the local and national economy. CEO Paul Kennedy spoke with the Congressman on key issues directly impacting the company and asked for the Congressman’s support in becoming a cosponsor of H.R. 2258.

Congressman Hagedorn signed on to H.R. 2258, the Promotion & Expansion of Private Employee Ownership Act, recently.

“I was pleased to visit Dakota Supply Group in Rochester to see directly how this employee-owned wholesale parts distributor is creating jobs and growing the economy,” said Congressman Hagedorn. “DSG serves numerous construction and trades industries by being a dependable wholesale source for both small and large businesses in southern Minnesota and beyond.”

“At Dakota Supply Group, we are proud to tell our customers that they are always working with an owner,” said Mr.Kennedy. “We believe that our unique culture boosts the success of our customers and makes each team member know how important they are to our company. Thank you, Rep. Hagedorn for visiting our facility and seeing how employee ownership has worked for us.”

DSG is a wholesale distributor that focuses on products in the electrical, plumbing, HVAC/R, automation, utility, communications, waterworks and on-site sewer, water and well. The products are sold to businesses of all sizes, including small family business owners, not only in Minnesota, but in the neighboring states of North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Montana, in one of DSG’s 33 locations. The company’s roots date back to 1898, when DSG was founded and has been 100% employee-owned since 2006. Dakota Supply Group joined ESCA this year.
