Last week, Congressman Billy Long (R-MO-7) visited Inland Truck Parts Company’s store in Springfield, MO. Inland Truck Parts Company is a 100 percent employee-owned company and proud member of ESCA.
During the visit, Congressman Long had the opportunity to meet Inland employee-owners and hear their personal employee-ownership stories. Given his experience running a small business, Rep. Long is familiar with ESOPs and is a supporter of employee-ownership.
A member of the House Homeland Security and Transportation and Infrastructure Committees, Congressman Long is a cosponsor of H.R. 1244: the Promotion and Expansion of Private Employee Ownership Act. This is a strongly bipartisan bill that has 71 co-sponsors in the House and 11 in the Senate. By preserving and expanding the S corporation ESOP structure, we can help more businesses to grow and create jobs that enable hardworking Americans to save for the future.
This was the first visit from Rep. Long to an ESCA member company and we are grateful for his continued support of ESOPs.
