This spring, a record six members of Congress – Rep. Erik Paulsen (R-MN), House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA), Rep. Richard Neal (D-MA) and Sens. John Thune (R-SD), Richard Burr (R-NC), and Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) – joined ESCA Board members and Summit attendees for various Summit activities. Additionally, Jared Bernstein, former chief economist for Vice President Joe Biden, presented the findings of his new study that shows by increasing capital ownership, ESOPs reduce wealth and wage inequality. Bernstein argued that if ESOP plans were to proliferate more broadly, more workers across the country would benefit from their equalizing effects.
